Happy Thursday PDA Family!
Boy oh boy did we have an “emotional” show last night!! 
Last week’s controversial “Ask PDA” letter from a listener caused so much of a ruckus that we had to expand it into an entire show! Little did we know this letter would teach us so much about one another, pit men against the women or how it would really put people’s beliefs under the microscope and force them to think outside of themselves in order to help the writer with her dilemma.
The dilemma presented to us was based in part on what the writer read in my book, “The Other Woman Code of Conduct” and the conversation we had on our “Love: Is it Business or Is it Personal” show that aired a few weeks back. Seeing as though I believe Rocky & Todd did not hold true to the position they took on that show when responding to this “Ask PDA” letter, I had to call them to the carpet!
Since the writer’s dilemma was based on “taking the business approach to relationships” theory we posed on our previous show, I just knew our cast understood the importance of us responding to her issue in way that was consistent with that theory…. and I couldn’t have been more off base!! There is no way I could have predicted what happened!! Let’s just say this…”conventional wisdom” would say that women are emotional and reactionary while men are pragmatic and problem solvers….well conventional wisdom was less wise and more dumb! Nonetheless, you will have to listen to the archives to see how the emotional switch got flipped!!
We gave the listening audience a “fly on the wall” experience by allowing them to hear the debate that ensued in our production meeting while responding to our interactive chat room’s comments in real-time. The conversation got so heated in the chat room, that our producer Chandra had to break up a verbal scurfuffle between two GUYS before it could go too far! (yes I meant to type “scurfuffle”)
I knew the tides had shifted and there was a full moon when Sassy got even Sassier!! She said something like…”Uh…I’m not finished DAMMIT!” when Rocky tried to interrupt her! Poor SportySpunky Angel was just exasperated and somewhat irritated at the blame game the men were playing, while Todd stuck to his guns about selfishness, even though he was shooting emotional blanks! My manager, Tony chimed in a few times and out of sheer frustration with the other guys he muted himself to keep from blowing a gasket! (Yes Tony, I threw you under the bus again! LOL 
) Meanwhile, I emailed audience questions to the writer in order to get some clarity and to stop all the ASSuming that was going on.
Even after the writer answered questions about birth control, child support, abortion, motives, etc. Rocky STILL refused to acquiesce that he was not being fair and his responses were emotionally charged.
All I can do is to implore you to check out the archives, hear what was said, how it ended and share your thoughts with us!!
In the meantime, here is the letter that started it all….tell us what you think of her plan! Do you think it’s a good one? Did she leave anything out? Should she add anything?
Dear PDA:
I love your show & I know you havent had a letter for a while but I need your input!
I’m a single woman having an affair w/ a married man. I like him, however I don’t love him & wouldn’t want be in a relationship with him. My dilemma is this:
I’m pregnant! I am in my early 40s & have no children so at this point in my life I am NOT interested in getting rid of the baby. I am also not interested in breaking up his family & I have told him so.
After reading your book & listening to the show you had on treating relationships like business I came up w/this plan:
Since he’s a financially stable (RICH) man who would be able to provide for the child I will tell everyone I was inseminated from a donor & he and I can come to an agreement on child support between the 2 of us. To keep him from having to explain the expenditure I will tell him to add me to his payroll as a consultant or something so nobody suspects.
What do you think?? What should I do? I want to get the opinions of your listeners on this one too!

Now can you believe this little note set the chat room ablaze and sent people off the reservation with their commentary? Most importantly, at the end of the day…we agreed to disagree & finally offered up some solutions (after I forced it out of them)! What solutions do you have for our writer? What are your thoughts?
