Open forum is always full of surprises and lots of laughs!!! This week was no exception and we hit the gate running. Congratulations to our President Barack Obama for being elected to a second term!!! With that being said… We each gave our opinions on how we felt about the result, the ads and the poor sportsmanship among both parties. Ms. KiKi decided to wage a Twitter/Instagram war against Donald Trump and He liked it!
Next up Peepin’ Shaun doesn’t like bad manners; if he is a gentleman in any kind of way towards you, thanks better follow. Now just so you understand I, Sporty Spunky Angel, didn’t have much to say during the show tonight due to a bit of laryngitis. I was given yet another nick-name by our lovely height-challenged hostess, Ms. KiKi and to find out my new name you must take a listen to the archives. (HINT: Listen closely or you will miss my responses.) LOL 😛
How many ways can a person butcher the English Language? This is a pet peeve we all have. I shared a story about being cussed out for correcting someone for using bad grammar on their (not there) timeline. KiKi shared a list of the main ones that are abused on a regular basis. Are you guilty? How about that love word “Bitch” being used as a term of endearment or to describe yourself? “I’m a Boss Bitch“, “That’s my Bitch” are some of the examples of this extremely heinous act. This is not OK (not kk) for anyone at any time. Now I’m sure by now you notice the common slang terms people use in texts and social media posts in parenthesis, this too (not to) has a time and a place. We need to set an example for the students of today so they are not turning in term papers with “u” instead of “you”.
Ms. KiKi shared a funny story (and pics) about how she got in “trouble with her momma for being “Nekkid”; now of course if you want the details you know the drill, check out those archives! This was for a great cause and definitely a much needed eye-opener.
By now I’m ready for a drink; and for the “Drink of the Week“, our producer Chandra introduced us to a “drink series” for the month of November and the 1st one up is “Hurricane Nel“. To find out how this drink got its name, yup you guessed it….listen to the archives! Speaking of hurricanes…Sandy was a brutal one for all of our East Coast family, especially our resident, resilient legal expert Ikeisha Al Shabazz. We have set up a site for you to donate to the relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy and 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the American Red Cross in the name of PDA & our listeners, so please make a contribution!
The “Ask PDA” letter was a serious teaching moment for the writer (not righter); to find out what she is “waiting” on, you must check out the archives, then chime in below with your advice for her. KiKi had a few topics she ranted about and they were pretty explosive. They had even our producer Chandra chime in with comments. Our Chat room Repeat Offenders and a few rookies kept the antics going with me tonight since my speaking voice was limited. Check out the archives and lets converse (not conversate) about it. Leave your comments below!
Join us next week for “What About Your Friends“…a show about all the craziness, betrayal and let downs that exist in friendships. Until then; comment on this blog, set a reminder & send us any situations you want us to discuss on next week’s show!!
