This was a special week on Playing Devil’s Advocate – Hosted by Ms. KiKi, the crew celebrated 4 years of Uncensored, Unscripted and Unapologetic conversation! Big, big shout out to KiKi, Peepin Shaun and Sporty Spunky Angel for Edutaining™ us each and every week. Even though the show has changed and evolved over the years, it has remained my favorite thing to do every Wednesday night at 10pm Eastern. Listening to the archives is a must to hear a medley of all PDA’s opening songs over the years! Thank you KiKi and the crew for entertaining the masses with great, uplifting, eye opening and mind blowing topics that gets the conversation started.
I was amazed to learn that in 4 years Playing Devil’s Advocate™ has missed only one, yes one show! That is pretty awesome! Peepin Shaun was not part of the crew during that first broadcast in 2009, but he did call in. The show was about interracial relationships and he just had to give another caller his opinion. Listen to the archives and hear exactly what had Mr. Know it All so fired up that he had to call in! Even on a special night like Wednesday night BlogtalkRadio could not keep it together. I know the “Repeat Offenders” feel my pain, BTR is always tripping. KiKi recalled the first night PDA shut BTR down…Of course it was a sex show that went so hard, BTR went black. KiKi and the crew had to do a follow up the next week. You know you have to Listen to the Archives to hear the clip that caused the shutdown.
Sporty was also a listener back in 2009 and apparently her only reason for tuning in was all lust. The next clip was from the “I Am Not My Hair” show. I had to go back and listen to the entire show after hearing that clip, because the then resident Angry Man, James Hannah, was so heated about the African American issue on light and dark skin. I also heard my girl Tonoa Bond in that clip, from 2010, doing her thing and stirring the pot. Playing Devil’s Advocate™ has changed and grown in so many positive ways over the years. The first incoming call of the night was from our host’s cousin, Mark Tillmon. He was on the panel for the “Real Athletes of PDA” show back in 2011 that started a Bromance that is still in effect today. To hear how KiKi’s cousin put her on blast, LISTEN TO THE ARCHIVES..
Shaka surprised us all by showing up early in the chat room, starting trouble as always. The next caller was featured on the Help Me, Help You aka the “Do Gooder” show that focused on people doing good things in their communities. Dr. Maurice A. Lee came through to show KiKi love and encouragement on a successful 4 years. He also expressed his appreciation for KiKi allowing he and PDA’s resident medical expert, Dr. G to inform the masses on how to receive low to no-cost medical and prescription care. I just love the way PDA entertains and informs the world about what is needed to sustain a long, happy life. LISTEN TO THE ARCHIVES to find out information on Dr. Lee’s next event.
The producer showed up and showed out for the anniversary show! The “Drink of the Week” was called The Devil’s Right Hand. (Trust me after a few of these you will care less what the left hand is doing!) This DOW is right on point so gather your ingredients, Listen to the Archives and sit back and enjoy the ride!
This next caller was a true blast from the past for KiKi. When she was touring and on the road with the late great, Bernie Mac, this caller was the one who kept her in line. Ms. KiKi even confessed to Mama Mac that she had not been a good girl. The 2011 year brought a plethora of different topics spanning both ends of the spectrum. One of KiKi’s favorite shows of that year was the “Adult Entertainment” show. The clip featured Mr. Marcus (who is currently in the news) ironically answering a question about STD testing. This clip, led to a few more interesting callers. LISTEN TO THE ARCHIVES! to hear the hilarious comments of comedian, Rodney Perry and there was even a visit from a long lost friend, KIKI’S AZZ!
The visits from past and present friends and family just kept pouring in. The next clip was from a 2011 show on Transgender Relationships and focused on a letter from a listener who doesn’t care if his women once had pee pee parts or not! Now you know this took the conversation to another level! This caller’s opinion and the comments of Rodney Perry, KiKi and the crew are not to be missed! As things moved on to 2012, KiKi finally played the clip from “Real Athletes of PDA” show and believe it or not KiKi met her match against these gentlemen. Anthony Dorsett, Jr., who was one of the panelists from that show called in and shared his favorite moment which sparked a “proposal” from KiKi! LISTENING TO THE ARCHIVES is a must, then comment on what you heard!
More discussion of 2012 brings into focus my boy, Mr. Know it All who never ceases to amaze me. Only Shaun would know what a Blumpkin is and how to perform it. KiKi, Sporty and I all agree that this is a very strange act, but I am not surprised that Shaun is the foremost expert on it. I mean, if memory serves me correctly, Shaun was the one on the Sex Olympics show who liked the word saliva? The only response I had for the next few clips was WOW! The clip from the “Ex-timonials” show left me speechless and ready to let the ghetto side of Chicago come out! You cannot miss the Elmo interview, so please LISTEN TO THE ARCHIVES and once you can breathe again, please comment…The surprises, the twist and turns didn’t stop, Facebook Shaka joined the show after just being released from the joint!
I was thoroughly entertained with this 4 Year Anniversary show and I am excited for the next 40! So, set a reminder now so that you do NOT miss the first show of year 5!
